Two Days of City Experiences in Hyderabad in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Charminar
    10 minutes (2.6 km) from Birla Mandir

    Charminar is a landmark monument and mosque in the Old City of Hyderabad. The morning is the best time to visit as it can get crowded later in the day. Take some time to explore the bazaar around Charminar, where you can find traditional jewellery, bangles, and clothing. In the afternoon, head to Salar Jung Museum, which houses one of the largest antique collections in the world. The museum has over a million objects, including paintings, sculptures, and textiles. In the evening, visit the Golconda Fort, which is known for its acoustics and light and sound show. The fort also offers stunning views of the city at night.

  2. Day 2: Ramoji Film City
    1 hour 30 minutes (40 km) from Golconda Fort

    Ramoji Film City is a popular tourist attraction and the largest film studio complex in the world. The morning is the best time to explore the site, where you can see film sets, gardens, and various attractions. In the afternoon, visit the Hussain Sagar Lake, which is a heart-shaped lake and one of the largest man-made lakes in Asia. Take a boat ride to see the Buddha statue in the middle of the lake. In the evening, head to the Qutub Shahi Tombs, which are the final resting place of the rulers of the Qutub Shahi dynasty. The tombs are beautifully decorated and offer a glimpse into the history of Hyderabad.

Recommendations

Hyderabad has many other attractions that are worth visiting, such as the Chowmahalla Palace, Mecca Masjid, and the Nehru Zoological Park. You could also take a side trip to visit the nearby city of Warangal, which has many historic sites and temples.
