6-Day Itinerary for Nepal in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Kathmandu Durbar Square
    30 minutes (4.3 miles) from Tribhuvan International Airport

    Start your trip with a visit to the historical Kathmandu Durbar Square. Marvel at the ancient temples, palaces and courtyards, and learn about Nepal's rich history and culture.   2. Day 2: Swayambhunath Stupa

    Get up early to catch the sunrise at Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple. Enjoy the panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley and observe the playful monkeys around the stupa.   3. Day 3: Bhaktapur Durbar Square

  4. Day 4: Chitwan National Park

Go on a jungle safari to spot the rare one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tiger, and other exotic wildlife. In the evening, enjoy a cultural show and a traditional Tharu dinner.

  5. Day 5: Pokhara
    4 hours (85 miles) from Chitwan National Park

    Travel to Pokhara, the gateway to the Himalayas and the second-largest city in Nepal. Take a boat ride on the tranquil Phewa Lake and admire the stunning Annapurna mountain range. In the afternoon, visit the World Peace Pagoda and the Gupteswar Gupha cave. In the evening, stroll along the vibrant Lakeside Road and enjoy the lively nightlife.

  6. Day 6: Sarangkot
    20 minutes (7.5 miles) from Pokhara

    Wake up early to catch the sunrise at Sarangkot, a popular hill station that offers a panoramic view of Pokhara Valley and the Himalayas. Go paragliding or zip-lining for an adrenaline rush, or hike to the nearby Bindabasini Temple and Devi's Fall for a spiritual retreat. In the evening, fly back to Kathmandu or extend your trip to other parts of Nepal.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, or trekking in the Annapurna region.
