Two-Day Itinerary for Munnar in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore the Greenery of Munnar

    Morning: Start your day with a visit to the Eravikulam National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. The park is open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. After exploring the park, head to the Top Station Viewpoint, which offers breathtaking views of the Western Ghats.

    Afternoon: Visit the Tea Museum to learn about the history and production of tea in the region. You can also sample some of the delicious local tea here. The museum is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

    Evening: End your day with a visit to the Mattupetty Dam, which offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys. You can also take a boat ride on the dam. The dam is open from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

  2. Day 2: Experience the Culture of Munnar
    25 minutes (10.5 miles) from Tea Museum

    Morning: Start your day with a visit to the Carmelagiri Elephant Park, where you can interact with elephants and learn about their lifestyle. The park is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

    Afternoon: Visit the CSI Church, a colonial-era church that was built in 1910. It is one of the oldest churches in the region and is known for its beautiful stained-glass windows. The church is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

    Evening: End your day with a visit to the Attukad Waterfalls, which are surrounded by lush green forests. You can also go trekking or take a dip in the waterfall.

If you have extra time, consider a visit to the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a variety of endangered species. You can also take a side trip to the picturesque town of Alleppey, known for its backwaters and houseboat cruises.
