Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider taking a day trip to the nearby town of Srirangapatna, which was the capital of the Mysore kingdom during the reign of Tipu Sultan. There are several historic sites to explore, including the Ranganathaswamy Temple and the Daria Daulat Bagh. Another option is to visit the nearby hill stations of Coorg or Ooty for a change of scenery. To maximize your fun, be sure to try the local cuisine, which includes dosas, vadas, and Mysore Pak. Finally, don't forget to take home some sandalwood products or silk sarees as souvenirs.
