Relaxing 2-Day Itinerary for Munnar in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit the Tea Gardens
    15 minutes (4.5 km) from Munnar

    Mornings are the perfect time to visit the tea gardens as the air is fresh and the views are stunning. You can take a leisurely stroll through the lush green tea plantations, learn about tea-making processes and enjoy a cup of freshly brewed tea. For lunch, there are many local restaurants near the gardens where you can enjoy the delicious Kerala cuisine. In the afternoon, visit the Mattupetty Dam and take a relaxing boat ride. End the day with a visit to the Kundala Lake to watch the sunset over the hills.

  2. Day 2: Relax at the Spa
    20 minutes (6 km) from Munnar

    Start your day with a relaxing spa treatment at one of the many spas in Munnar. They offer a variety of treatments such as Ayurvedic massages and reflexology. After your spa session, head to the Top Station for breathtaking views of the Western Ghats. For lunch, try some of the delicious local street food. In the afternoon, visit the Eravikulam National Park to see the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and other wildlife. End the day with a visit to the Tea Museum and learn about the history of tea-making in Munnar.

Recommendations

If you have more time, you should consider visiting the Anamudi Peak, the highest peak in South India. You can also take a day trip to the nearby town of Thekkady to explore the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. To maximize your fun, try some of the adventure activities like rock climbing, trekking, and camping. Don't forget to try some of the local delicacies like appam, puttu, and kadala curry. Lastly, do not miss the chance to buy some tea and spices to take back home as souvenirs.
