2-Day Itinerary for Udaipur in July 2023

  1. Day 1: City Palace
    10 minutes (3.5 km) from Udaipur City Railway Station

    In the morning, visit the City Palace, a grand palace complex built by Maharana Udai Singh II. Marvel at the intricate architecture and beautiful courtyards. In the afternoon, take a boat ride on Lake Pichola to enjoy the breathtaking views of the palace and the Aravalli Mountains. End the day with a cultural show at Bagore Ki Haveli, showcasing music, dance, and puppetry performances.

  2. Day 2: Saheliyon Ki Bari and Monsoon Palace
    20 minutes (7.8 km) from City Palace

    Start the day at Saheliyon Ki Bari, a beautiful garden designed for the royal ladies. Explore the lush green lawns, fountains and marble elephants. In the afternoon, take a scenic drive to the Monsoon Palace, perched on a hilltop overlooking the city. Enjoy the panoramic views of Udaipur and the surrounding countryside. End the day with a visit to the Fateh Sagar Lake, and take a boat ride to Nehru Park.

Make sure to explore the local markets and shop for souvenirs like traditional Rajasthani handicrafts, jewellery and clothes. You can also take a day trip to the Kumbhalgarh Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to witness the grandeur of the fort and enjoy a light and sound show. Another interesting place to visit is the Shilpgram, a rural arts and crafts complex showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan. Don't forget to try the local delicacies like dal bati churma, gatte ki sabzi and kachori.
