Agra in June 2023 Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Taj Mahal
    10 minutes (2.5 kilometers) from Agra Fort

    In the morning, visit the iconic Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Admire the beautiful white marble and intricate carvings as the sun rises over the monument. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Mehtab Bagh to view the Taj Mahal from across the Yamuna River. In the evening, explore the local markets and try some delicious street food.

  2. Day 2: Agra Fort
    20 minutes (6.5 kilometers) from Itmad-Ud-Daulah's Tomb

    Begin your day with a visit to Agra Fort, a red sandstone fortress and another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the beautiful palaces, gardens, and mosques within the fort. In the afternoon, head to the Tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah, also known as the Baby Taj. This beautiful mausoleum was built by Empress Nur Jahan in memory of her father. In the evening, relax at a rooftop restaurant with views of the Taj Mahal.

  3. Day 3: Fatehpur Sikri
    1 hour 20 minutes (40 kilometers) from Agra Fort

    Today, take a day trip to the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the beautiful red sandstone buildings, including the Diwan-i-Khas, Buland Darwaza, and Panch Mahal. In the afternoon, head to Keoladeo National Park, a bird sanctuary and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a relaxing boat ride and spot some of the 230 species of birds that live in the park. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Rajasthani dinner and cultural show.

  4. Day 4: Akbar's Tomb
    30 minutes (10 kilometers) from Jama Masjid

    In the morning, visit the serene tomb of Akbar the Great, a Mughal emperor. Admire the beautiful red sandstone and marble architecture of the tomb and explore the surrounding gardens. In the afternoon, head to the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. Marvel at the beautiful red sandstone and white marble architecture and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. In the evening, attend a traditional dance performance at Kalakriti Cultural and Convention Center.

  5. Day 5: Wildlife SOS
    1 hour 20 minutes (50 kilometers) from Akbar's Tomb

    Spend the day at Wildlife SOS, an animal rescue and rehabilitation center. Take a tour of the center and learn about the work they do to save bears, elephants, and other animals from captivity and abuse. In the afternoon, head to the Taj Nature Walk and take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful gardens and woods. In the evening, enjoy a sunset boat ride on the Yamuna River.

  6. Day 6: Day of Leisure
    Relax and explore the city at your leisure. Visit local markets, cafes, and museums on your own. You can also consider a day trip to Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, or Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    Enjoy your last day in Agra and take in all the sights and sounds of the city. Relax at a rooftop restaurant with views of the Taj Mahal or take a cooking class and learn to make some delicious Indian dishes.
