One Day Itinerary for Rameshwaram

  1. 6:00 AM: Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple
    Located in the heart of Rameshwaram, the temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples in India. It is believed that a visit to this temple washes away all your sins.

    This temple features a long corridor with intricately designed pillars and has a massive Nandi statue placed outside the temple.

  2. 9:00 AM: Dhanuskodi Beach
    It is a secluded beach at the eastern end of Rameshwaram island, where Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean meet. The journey to this beach is as thrilling as the beach itself.

    The ruins of Dhanuskodi town, which was destroyed in a cyclone, can be seen on the way to the beach. It is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.

  3. 12:00 PM: Annai Indira Gandhi Road Bridge
    Popularly known as Pamban Bridge, it connects Rameshwaram Island to the Indian mainland. This bridge is a perfect example of the marvels of engineering and is India's first sea bridge.

  4. 2:00 PM: Kothandaramaswamy Temple

    This is the most famous and sacred bathing spot in Rameshwaram. It is believed that taking a dip in the sea at this spot washes away all the sins.

    The beach is a perfect spot to relax and watch the sunset. You can also witness the evening prayer ceremony at the Ramanathaswamy Temple.
