3-Day Itinerary for Munnar in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Mattupetty Dam
    15 minutes (7.5 km) from Munnar town

    The Mattupetty Dam, a concrete gravity dam, is a popular tourist spot. Morning is the best time to visit. You can enjoy boating in the serene waters of the dam. In the afternoon, you can visit the Tea Museum to learn about tea processing, and then proceed to the nearby Echo Point. In the evening, head to the Kundala Lake, which offers an excellent view of the Western Ghats.

  2. Day 2: Eravikulam National Park
    1 hour (14 km) from Munnar town

    The Eravikulam National Park is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and other species. It opens at 7:30 am, so make sure to reach there early to avoid the crowd. Afternoon can be spent at the nearby Tea Garden where you can stroll amidst the lush greenery while sipping tea. In the evening, visit the Attukad Waterfalls, a scenic waterfall surrounded by hills and jungles.

  3. Day 3: Top Station
    2 hours (38 km) from Munnar town

    The Top Station offers a panoramic view of the Western Ghats. Start early to avoid the crowd. You can then visit the nearby Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary to have a glimpse of wildlife. In the afternoon, head to the Meesapulimala, the highest peak in the Western Ghats, to enjoy a trek. In the evening, you can visit the Blossom Hydel Park, which has a variety of flowering plants and adventure activities.

If you have more time, you can visit the Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, which is the world's highest tea plantation.
