Munnar Family Friendly Itinerary - June 2023

  1. Day 1: Tea Museum and Mattupetty Dam
    15 minutes (4.5 miles) from Munnar town

    Start your day with a visit to the Tea Museum, which showcases the history and process of tea making. After that, head over to Mattupetty Dam to take in the stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. You can also enjoy a boat ride or go for a walk in the nearby Shola Forest.

  2. Day 2: Kundala Dam and Top Station
    1 hour 20 minutes (30 miles) from Munnar town

    Start off your day with a scenic drive to Kundala Dam, where you can go boating on the lake or take a leisurely walk in the surrounding gardens. After that, head to Top Station to take in the breathtaking panoramic view of the Western Ghats. Don't forget to bring your camera!

  3. Day 3: Anamudi Peak and Eravikulam National Park
    1 hour (9 miles) from Munnar town

    Start your day early and head to Anamudi Peak, the highest peak in South India. After experiencing the stunning views, head to Eravikulam National Park to see the Nilgiri Tahr and other endemic species of flora and fauna.   5. Day 5: Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary and Marayoor Sandalwood Forest
    2 hours 30 minutes (56 miles) from Munnar town

    Take a day trip to Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary where you can spot a variety of wildlife like elephants, deer, and leopards while taking a guided trek through the forest. After the trek, head to Marayoor Sandalwood Forest, which is home to one of the only natural sandalwood forests in Kerala.

  6. Day 6: Echo Point and Meesapulimala Trek
    40 minutes (12 miles) from Munnar town

    Start your day at Echo Point, where you can shout out your name and hear it echo back. After that, get ready for a trek to Meesapulimala, the second-highest peak in the Western Ghats. The trek takes about 7 hours round trip and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
