Recommendations

If you have more time, you can visit the nearby Patnitop hill station which is around 90 km from Katra. You can also visit the Shivkhori Temple which is famous for its naturally formed shiv linga. You can also try out adventure sports like paragliding and skiing at Patnitop. To maximize your fun, make sure to carry comfortable walking shoes, a backpack with essentials like water bottles, snacks, and first aid kit. It is also advisable to check the weather forecast before starting your journey and carry appropriate clothing.

If you are traveling with children or elderly people, make sure to take enough breaks during the trek and hire a pony or palanquin if required. It is also advisable to carry a walking stick for support. You can also carry portable oxygen cylinders as the climb can be tiring at times.
