5-Day Adventure Itinerary in Karnataka in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Coorg
    5 hours 45 minutes (250 km) from Bangalore

    Coorg, also known as Kodagu, is a beautiful hill station located in the Western Ghats. In the morning, you can go trekking at the Brahmagiri Peak or explore the coffee plantations. In the afternoon, visit the Abbey Falls and enjoy a refreshing dip. In the evening, take a walk through the Raja's Seat and watch the sunset over the hills.

  2. Day 2: Hampi
    7 hours (350 km) from Coorg

    Hampi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was once the center of the Vijayanagara Empire. In the morning, explore the ruins of the Hampi Bazaar and the Virupaksha Temple. In the afternoon, visit the Vittala Temple and marvel at the stone chariot. In the evening, hike up to the Matanga Hill to watch the sunset over the ruins.

  3. Day 3: Gokarna
    6 hours 30 minutes (250 km) from Hampi

    Gokarna is a small temple town located on the Arabian Sea. In the morning, take a dip at the Om Beach or the Kudle Beach. In the afternoon, visit the Mahabaleshwara Temple and the Maha Ganapati Temple. In the evening, relax by the beach and enjoy the sunset.

  4. Day 4: Dandeli
    3 hours (150 km) from Gokarna

    Dandeli is a nature lover's paradise, with lush forests and the Kali River. In the morning, go on a wildlife safari at the Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. In the afternoon, go white water rafting on the Kali River. In the evening, take a leisurely walk through the forests and spot some exotic birds.

  5. Day 5: Bangalore
    7 hours (450 km) from Dandeli

    Bangalore is the capital city of Karnataka and known as the Silicon Valley of India. In the morning, visit the Lalbagh Botanical Garden and the Bangalore Palace. In the afternoon, explore the streets of Basavanagudi and sample some local delicacies. In the evening, take a stroll through the Cubbon Park and enjoy the colorful lights of the city.

Recommendations

If you have more time, you can consider visiting the Jog Falls, the second-highest plunge waterfall in India, or the Bandipur National Park, home to tigers and elephants. You can also take a side trip to the beaches of Goa. To maximize your fun, try some of the local adventure activities like rock climbing or zip-lining.
