2-Day Itinerary for Karnataka in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Mysuru Palace

    Mysuru Palace, also known as the Amba Vilas Palace, is a stunning palace in the city of Mysore. The palace was built in the early 20th century and is an excellent example of Indo-Saracenic architecture. Visit in the morning to beat the crowds and to appreciate the beauty of the palace at its finest. Afternoon, you can walk around the palace gardens and enjoy the outdoor atmosphere. In the evening, attend the Sound and Light show that displays the history of the palace.

  2. Day 2: Coorg
    4 hours 30 minutes (239 km) from Mysuru Palace

    Coorg, also known as Kodagu, is a beautiful hill station in Karnataka. Spend the morning exploring the Dubare Elephant Camp where you can see elephants up close and even participate in their daily baths. In the afternoon, visit the Namdroling Monastery. It is a beautiful Tibetan monastery that is known for its architecture and murals. In the evening, enjoy a stroll through the coffee plantations and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

If you have extra time, you can visit the Bandipur National Park, which is known for its tigers and elephants. Another great side trip is Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is known for its ancient temples and ruins. Make sure to try the local cuisine, which includes dosas, idlis, and vadas.
