Bachelor's Guide to Bangkok - August 2023

  1. Day 1: Khao San Road
    50 minutes (18.7 km) from Suvarnabhumi Airport

    For the morning, take a stroll around the infamous Khao San Road, grab some street food, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. In the afternoon, take a tuk-tuk to Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace, two of Thailand's most iconic landmarks, and marvel at their beauty. In the evening, head back to Khao San Road for a night out of bar hopping and clubbing.

  2. Day 2: Chatuchak Market
    30 minutes (10.6 km) from Khao San Road

    For the morning, head to Chatuchak Market, one of the largest markets in the world, to shop for souvenirs and local goods. In the afternoon, head to Soi Cowboy, Bangkok’s famous red-light district, and experience the city's nightlife. In the evening, visit Asiatique The Riverfront, Bangkok's largest night bazaar, for shopping and food.

  3. Day 3: Lumpini Park
    40 minutes (13.5 km) from Chatuchak Market

    For the morning, visit Lumpini Park, Bangkok's green lung, and take a stroll, rent a bike, or practice tai chi. In the afternoon, hit up RCA, Bangkok's leading nightlife destination, for some drinking and dancing. In the evening, visit one of Bangkok's rooftop bars, like The Moon Bar, for breathtaking views of the city.

  4. Day 4: Muay Thai Boxing
    30 minutes (12.2 km) from Lumpini Park

    For the morning, get a traditional Thai massage to relax and rejuvenate. In the afternoon, catch a real Muay Thai fight at Rajadamnern Stadium, one of the most famous venues in the world. In the evening, visit one of Bangkok's gentleman clubs, like Crazy House, for some adult entertainment.

  5. Day 5: Ayutthaya
    1 hour 30 minutes (80.7 km) from Muay Thai Boxing Stadium

    For the morning, take a day trip to Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Siam, and explore its temples and ruins. In the afternoon, visit the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, one of the most photographed places in Thailand. In the evening, return to Bangkok and head to Khao San Road for a final night of partying.

  6. Day 6: Chinatown
    30 minutes (9.2 km) from Khao San Road

    For the morning, visit Bangkok's Chinatown and sample some of the city's best street food. In the afternoon, head to the Jim Thompson House, a museum dedicated to the American businessman who helped revitalize the Thai silk industry. In the evening, visit the famous Patpong Night Market, known for its knockoff designer goods and seedy bars.

Bangkok is a city of endless possibilities. If you have time, consider visiting the following places: Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn; Wat Pho, home of the giant Reclining Buddha; and the MBK Center, one of Asia's biggest shopping malls.
