2-Day Adventure Itinerary in Munnar

  1. Day 1: Kolukkumalai Tea Estate
    1 hour 30 minutes (33.4 km) from Munnar town center

    In the morning, head to Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, located at the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Known for its highest organic tea plantation in the world, this tea estate offers breathtaking views of the Western Ghats and the sunrise. Enjoy a guided tour to learn about the tea-making process and history of the estate. In the afternoon, go for a 4x4 jeep safari to the nearby Anayirangal Dam, which offers mesmerizing views of the surrounding hills and a chance to spot wild elephants. In the evening, return to Munnar town center for a traditional South Indian meal.

  2. Day 2: Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary
    1 hour 40 minutes (60.9 km) from Munnar town center

    Start your day early and head to Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the rain shadow region of the Western Ghats. This sanctuary is home to several endangered species like the grizzled giant squirrel, star tortoise, and slender loris. Take a guided trek to the watchtower to spot these animals in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, visit the Thoovanam Waterfalls, located inside the sanctuary, which offers a refreshing swim in the crystal clear water. In the evening, return to Munnar town center for some shopping at the local markets.

You can also visit the Eravikulam National Park to spot the endangered Nilgiri Tahr.
