Recommendations

If you have extra time, you can visit the Ariyaman Beach, a pristine and beautiful beach that is less crowded than the other beaches in Rameshwaram. You can also take a boat ride to the Kurusadai Island, a marine national park that offers a unique experience of witnessing the marine creatures up close. Another recommended side trip is to the city of Madurai, which is around three hours from Rameshwaram and has some of the most beautiful temples and architecture in India.

To maximize your fun, try the local cuisine, which is predominantly vegetarian and has a lot of unique flavors. You can also enjoy water sports like scuba diving and snorkeling in the clear blue waters of the ocean. Make sure to carry sunscreen and hats to protect yourself from the heat and the sun. Finally, do not forget to take a dip in the sacred tanks near the temple to cleanse your body and soul.
