2-Day Itinerary for Munnar in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mattupetty Dam
    20 minutes (8.3 km) from Munnar town

    Start your day by visiting the Mattupetty Dam, a popular tourist spot that offers picturesque views of the surrounding hills and tea plantations. In the morning, you can take a leisurely walk along the dam and enjoy the fresh mountain air. In the afternoon, you can take a boat ride on the dam's reservoir and admire the magnificent views. In the evening, relax and unwind at the nearby Echo Point, where you can shout out your name and hear it echo back.

  2. Day 2: Eravikulam National Park
    30 minutes (12 km) from Munnar town

    On your second day, head to the Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. In the morning, take a guided trek through the park and marvel at the stunning landscapes and diverse flora and fauna. In the afternoon, visit the Tea Museum, where you can learn about the history and production of tea in the region. In the evening, take a stroll through the town's local markets and pick up some souvenirs.

If you have more time, consider visiting the Top Station, a high altitude point that offers breathtaking views of the Western Ghats and Tamil Nadu. You can also take a side trip to the Anamudi peak, the highest peak in South India. To maximize your fun, try out some local delicacies such as puttu, appam, and kadala curry.
