Start your day with a visit to the famous Somnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and its history dates back to ancient times. You can witness the aarti ceremony in the morning or evening which is a sight to behold. After lunch, you can visit the Somnath Beach which is a few minutes away from the temple. You can indulge in camel or horse riding or just relax by the beach. In the evening, head to the light and sound show at the temple which narrates the history of the temple in a captivating way.
Start your day early and head to the Gir National Park which is famous for its Asiatic lions. The park also has a wide variety of flora and fauna along with many bird species. You can either opt for a jeep safari or a lion safari to spot these majestic creatures. The safari takes around 3 hours and it is recommended to book in advance. After the safari, you can head to the Devalia Safari Park which is also home to lions, leopards and other wildlife. End your day with a visit to the Kamleshwar Dam which offers a scenic view of the surroundings.
Apart from the above attractions, you can also visit the Bhalka Tirtha, Triveni Sangam, Junagadh Gate and Panch Pandav Gufa. If you have an extra day, you can also visit the Diu Island which is around 90 minutes away from Somnath. It is a beautiful island with clean beaches, Portuguese architecture and a fort. For maximizing your fun, make sure to carry sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses especially during the summer months. Also, carry enough water and snacks during the safari.
