Punjab Family-Friendly 6-Day Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Amritsar
    10 minutes (5.3 km) from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Golden Temple, the holiest Gurudwara of Sikhism. In the afternoon, head to the Jallianwala Bagh memorial, a historical site commemorating the massacre of peaceful protesters by British troops.   2. Day 2: Ludhiana
    2 hours 45 minutes (145 km) from Amritsar

    Spend the morning at Nehru Rose Garden, a beautiful park with a variety of roses surrounded by fountains and waterfalls. In the afternoon, visit Maharaja Ranjit Singh War Museum, dedicated to the history of the Indian Army, including the heroism and sacrifices of soldiers during wartime. In the evening, head to Hardy's World Amusement Park, which offers rides and games for all ages.

  3. Day 3: Patiala

Recommendations

If you have an extra day, consider a visit to Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj, where you can see the residence of the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama. You can also visit the beautiful Norbulingka Institute, which is a centre for Tibetan handicrafts and arts. Alternatively, take a day trip to Anandpur Sahib, a holy city known for its rich history and significant Sikh shrines. Don't forget to try the local food, such as makki di roti, sarson ka saag, and lassi.
