4-Day City Experiences Itinerary for Barcelona in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Gothic Quarter
    20 minutes (5.3 km) from Barcelona–El Prat Airport

    Start your day in the historic Gothic Quarter, the heart of Barcelona's Old City. Explore the narrow streets and alleys, admiring the architecture of the Gothic Cathedral and the Roman Walls, and Plaza del Rey. In the afternoon, visit the Picasso Museum, which houses one of the most extensive collections of the artist's work. Finish off your day with a stroll along the famous pedestrian street, La Rambla, and enjoy the street performers, local vendors, and the Boqueria Market.

  2. Day 2: Park Guell
    20 minutes (6.5 km) from Gothic Quarter

    Start your morning off with a visit to Park Guell, one of Barcelona's most beautiful parks, filled with stunning architecture and panoramic views of the city. Afternoon head to the Sagrada Familia, one of Gaudi's most famous works and still under construction.   3. Day 3: Montserrat Monastery

    Take a day trip to Montserrat Monastery, one of Spain's most important religious sites and home to the famous Black Madonna. Hike the mountain trails for some breathtaking views. Return to the city for a visit to Park Ciutadella, which houses a zoo, waterfalls, and the Museo de Arte Moderno. In the evening, head to Barceloneta, the city's beach neighborhood, for dinner and drinks at one of the many seaside restaurants or bars.

  4. Day 4: Camp Nou
    30 minutes (10.9 km) from Barceloneta

    Visit Camp Nou, the home stadium of FC Barcelona, one of the world's most successful football teams. Take a tour of the stadium and the FC Barcelona Museum, where you can relive some of the club's most iconic moments. Afternoon, head to the Poble Espanyol, an open-air museum that showcases Spain's rich culture and history. In the evening, head to one of the city's best rooftop bars, such as Terraza Martinez or La Isabela, for cocktails and panoramic views of the city.

If you have the time, consider taking a day trip to the nearby Costa Brava region, famous for its beautiful beaches and quaint coastal towns. Another great option is a trip to the nearby wine region of Penedes, where you can tour vineyards and sample some of Spain's famous Cava wine. To maximize your fun, try to book tickets in advance for popular attractions like the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell, which can get crowded during peak season.
