6-Day Karnataka Nature Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Bandipur National Park
    3 hours 30 minutes (144 km) from Bangalore

    In the morning, take a jungle safari in the Bandipur National Park, home to tigers, elephants and other wildlife species. In the afternoon, visit the Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta hill for its stunning views. In the evening, go for a guided nature walk in the national park.

  2. Day 2: Coorg
    2 hours 20 minutes (83 km) from Bandipur National Park

    Explore the lush coffee plantations of Coorg in the morning, followed by a visit to the Abbey Falls. In the afternoon, visit the Dubare Elephant Camp to interact with elephants and learn about their care. In the evening, visit the Madikeri Fort and enjoy the sunset from Raja's Seat.

  3. Day 3: Mysore
    3 hours 20 minutes (120 km) from Coorg

    Visit the Mysore Palace in the morning, a stunning example of Indo-Saracenic architecture. In the afternoon, take a stroll through Brindavan Gardens, with its fountains and beautiful landscaping. In the evening, enjoy the light and sound show at the palace.

  6. Day 6: Goa
    3 hours 30 minutes (150 km) from Gokarna Beaches

    Visit the Dudhsagar Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India, in the morning. In the afternoon, take a guided tour of Old Goa, with its beautiful churches and colonial architecture. In the evening, enjoy the nightlife at any of the local bars and restaurants.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient temples and ruins. Another option is to visit the Jog Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in India. A side trip to the nearby hill stations of Ooty or Coonoor is also highly recommended. To maximize your fun, try to book safari tours and accommodations in advance. It is also advisable to carry insect repellents and comfortable walking shoes.
