Munnar Nature Lovers Itinerary - 2 Days

  1. Day 1: Eravikulam National Park
30 minutes (10.3 miles) from Munnar

Eravikulam National Park is a must-visit for nature lovers. The park is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and a variety of other wildlife. We recommend arriving early in the morning to avoid crowds and catch a glimpse of the Tahr grazing on the hillsides. Afternoon is the perfect time for a leisurely trek in the park's scenic rolling hills. In the evening, unwind and enjoy the beautiful sunset from the park's observation deck.

  2. Day 2: Mattupetty Dam and Lake
25 minutes (8.2 miles) from Munnar

In the morning head to Mattupetty Dam and Lake. Surrounded by lush green hills and tea plantations, the dam offers stunning views of the surrounding nature. Take a boat ride on the serene lake and enjoy the cool breeze. Afternoon is the perfect time for a visit to the nearby Echo Point. Shout out your name and wait for the echo to return. In the evening, visit the nearby Kundala Lake and enjoy a peaceful stroll around the lake.

Recommendations

Munnar is full of natural beauty, and there are so many other places worth exploring. The Tea Museum is an exciting place to learn about the history and culture of tea plantations in the region. The Top Station viewpoint offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Western Ghats and is worth the drive. For a side trip, we suggest a visit to the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary. To maximize your fun, consider hiring a local guide who can tailor your itinerary to your interests.
