North Goa 4-Day Itinerary in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Fort Aguada
    30 minutes (10.3 miles) from Dabolim Airport

    In the morning, take a guided tour of Fort Aguada, a 17th-century Portuguese fort that sits on the Sinquerim Beach. Walk along the ramparts and admire the stunning view of the Arabian Sea and the Mandovi River. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Sinquerim Beach, one of the best beaches in North Goa. Relax on the golden sand, swim in the clear water, and enjoy some delicious seafood at one of the beachside shacks. In the evening, head to the bustling Candolim Beach and explore the local markets and shops.

  2. Day 2: Anjuna Beach

    In the morning, head to Anjuna Beach, famous for its Wednesday flea market. Browse through the stalls selling everything from clothes and jewellery to handicrafts and souvenirs. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Vagator Beach, which has stunning red cliffs and rock formations. Take a dip in the water, enjoy a picnic, and watch the sunset. In the evening, head to the nearby Chapora Fort, which offers a spectacular view of the sea and the surrounding areas.

  3. Day 3: Old Goa
    1 hour 15 minutes (22.6 miles) from Anjuna Beach

    In the morning, visit Old Goa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was the capital of Portuguese India. Explore the beautiful churches such as the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral, and Church of St. Francis of Assisi. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Mangueshi Temple, one of the most famous temples in Goa, dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the evening, head to the Panaji market and try some street food or shop for local souvenirs.

  4. Day 4: Dudhsagar Waterfalls
    2 hours 15 minutes (44.7 miles) from Old Goa

    In the morning, take a trip to Dudhsagar Waterfalls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and is a popular spot for swimming and picnics. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Tambdi Surla Temple, a 12th-century Shiva temple located in the middle of the forest. In the evening, head back to your hotel and relax before your flight back home.

If you have more time, consider taking a side trip to the beautiful beaches of Morjim and Mandrem. You can also visit the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, which is a haven for birdwatchers. To maximise your fun, try some adventurous water sports such as parasailing, jet skiing, and banana boat rides.
