Aurangabad Family-Friendly 3-Day Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Ajanta Caves
    2 hours 27 minutes (102 km) from Aurangabad city centre

    In the morning, visit the Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO world heritage site famous for its rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments.   2. Day 2: Ellora Caves
    1 hour 34 minutes (30.6 km) from Ajanta Caves

    Spend the morning exploring the Ellora Caves, a UNESCO world heritage site featuring 34 rock-cut temples representing Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. After lunch, visit the Daulatabad Fort, which dates back to the 14th century, and offers a panoramic view of the Aurangabad city.   3. Day 3: Bibi Ka Maqbara and Panchakki

    Start your day by visiting the Bibi Ka Maqbara, a mausoleum built in the 17th century by Prince Azam Shah in memory of his mother. The monument, often referred to as the "Taj of the Deccan", is a replica of the Taj Mahal. In the afternoon, visit the Panchakki, also known as the water mill, an old hydro-powered flour mill dating back to the 17th century. End your day with a visit to the Gul Mandi, the local market which is known for its textiles, jewellery and handicrafts.
