Efficient and comfortable train travel is highly recommended. Trenitalia and Italo operate high-speed trains between the cities included in our itinerary, with one-way tickets ranging from €20 to €60. Taxis and waters taxis are also available but can be quite expensive.
Add another day or two and explore more of Tuscany along the way from Florence to Venice. Alternatively, shorten your stay in one of the cities if you need to. We recommend booking tickets to attractions and restaurants in advance to avoid queues and disappointments on the day. Remember to pack comfortable shoes, as there will be a lot of walking involved.
Our itinerary recommends flying in and out of Rome. Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) is located 32 km southwest of Rome's city centre, and Rome Ciampino Airport (CIA) is located 15 km southeast of Rome's city centre.
