Discovering Kanyakumari in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Vivekananda Rock Memorial
    15 minutes (1.5 miles) from Kanyakumari Beach

    In the morning, visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, an impressive structure commemorating Swami Vivekananda's meditative retreat on a rock island off the coast. In the afternoon, visit the Udayagiri Fort, a historic fortress built by the Travancore kings to defend against foreign invasions. Explore the ruins of the fort, which include several bastions, walls and a palace complex. In the evening, head back to Kanyakumari for some souvenir shopping at the local bazaar.
