Start your day early with a ferry ride to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. It is dedicated to the famous Indian philosopher Swami Vivekananda and is believed to be the spot where he meditated before embarking on his mission to spread Hinduism to the western world. The memorial also houses a museum showcasing the life of Swami Vivekananda. Next, visit the Thiruvalluvar Statue, a 133-ft tall stone statue dedicated to the famous Tamil poet and philosopher, Thiruvalluvar. It is located adjacent to the memorial on another smaller rock, and the view from the top of the statue is simply breathtaking.
After exploring the memorial, head back to Kanyakumari Beach, one of the famous beaches of Kanyakumari. Relax on its golden sands and take in the view of the confluence of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean. In the evening, head over to Sunset View Point, located adjacent to the beach, to witness a gorgeous sunset view with your family.
Early in the morning, drive to Padmanabhapuram Palace, a 16th-century magnificent wooden palace situated in the town of Padmanabhapuram. The palace exhibits the ancient glory of Kerala and is known for its traditional architecture, intricate carvings, and murals. Later, head towards Suchindram Temple, a famous Hindu temple located 2 km from the palace. It is known for its grand architecture, musical pillars, and a unique statue of Lord Hanuman, with a non-traditional human face on one side and a monkey face on the other.
Next, visit the Mathur Hanging Bridge, which is a popular tourist attraction located in Mathur village. The bridge stretches over the beautiful Pahrali River and provides an exhilarating experience for visitors who cross it. Later, head towards the Devi Kanyakumari Temple, located in the town of Kanyakumari. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kanyakumari and is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva meditated before getting married to the goddess.
If you have more time, you can explore other nearby attractions such as Pechiparai Dam, Udayagiri Fort, or Wax Museum. Also, make sure to carry enough water bottles, sunscreen, and hats to beat the heat.
