Start your trip with a visit to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. This rock has a memorial built to honour Swami Vivekananda, who is said to have attained enlightenment here. Take the ferry to reach the rock and spend some time exploring it while enjoying the picturesque views of the sea from where the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean meet.
After visiting Vivekananda Rock Memorial, head to the Thiruvalluvar Statue, a towering statue of the famous Tamil poet and philosopher, Thiruvalluvar. The statue is 133 feet tall and represents the 133 chapters of his most celebrated work, Thirukkural. Take a few photos at the base of the statue or head to the nearby beach for a relaxing stroll.
End your day with a visit to the iconic Kanyakumari Beach, where three seas come together- the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean. Take a leisurely walk along the beach while enjoying the stunning sunset views or take a dip in the waters. You can also try some local street food or souvenir shopping.
On your second day, visit the Padmanabhapuram Palace, located in the town of Padmanabhapuram. This is an ancient wooden palace built in 1601 AD by the rulers of Travancore. The palace has a museum with an exquisite collection of precious artefacts and paintings. You can also witness the traditional architectural designs and artwork of the palace.
After visiting the Padmanabhapuram Palace, drive to the Mathur Hanging Trough, an engineering masterpiece built during the British era. The trough is a 115 ft high and 7 ft wide trough that carries water from one hill to another through pipes. It is a great spot for photography and is surrounded by lush greenery.
If you have more time, you can visit the Gandhi Memorial, Wax Museum, and Suchindram Temple. If you have less time, you can skip Mathur Hanging Trough, which is relatively far from other places. It is essential to carry enough water and sunscreen while visiting Kanyakumari and nearby places during summers.
