Start your day with a visit to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Thiruvalluvar Statue, located on a rocky island off the coast. The memorial is dedicated to Swami Vivekananda, a spiritual leader who meditated here in 1892. The Thiruvalluvar Statue, at 133 feet, is one of the tallest statues in Asia and dedicated to a Tamil poet and philosopher.
After visiting the memorials, head to Kanyakumari Beach, which is located on the southernmost tip of India and offers stunning views of the ocean. You can also visit the Sunset View Point nearby to witness the sunset over the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.
On day two, visit the Suchindram Thanumalayan Temple, which features a mix of Dravidian, Rajasthani and Kerala architectural styles and is dedicated to the Trimurti of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. The temple is famous for its 22-feet-high Nandhi, carved out of a single stone.
Wrap up your trip with a visit to the Padmanabhapuram Palace, an ancient palace located in Thuckalay town. This 16th-century palace was once the seat of the Travancore rulers and features a stunning collection of antique furniture, ancient weapons and traditional Kerala art forms.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Gandhi Mandapam and the Udayagiri Fort. For those with less time to spare, the Kanyakumari Beach and Sunset View Point can be combined into one activity and visited in the evening for the sunset.
