    Explore more of Rome’s wonders before hopping on a Vespa and departing for Florence. Along the way, stop for lunch at charming cafes in Tuscany. When you arrive in Florence, visit the Uffizi Gallery, an art museum that houses masterpieces by Botticelli, Michelangelo and da Vinci.

  • Day 3: Florence to Pisa to Cinque Terre
    From Florence to Pisa: 1 hour (85km). From Pisa to Cinque Terre: 2 hours (90km)

    Leave Florence behind and head to the leaning tower of Pisa before making your way to the UNESCO-listed five towns of Cinque Terre. Enjoy cliffside hikes with panoramic seascape views and indulge in seafood and wine.

Our itinerary is designed for the adventurous. The best way to explore Italy is with a Vespa tour, allowing you to visit the best sights and hidden gems. Alternatively, you can opt for car rentals for more flexibility outside of large cities. Train and bus schedules also offer affordable and fast transportation between the major cities. Expect to spend between €200-€500 total on transportation depending on your preferences.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, consider spending an extra day in Florence or renting a villa in the countryside. Alternatively, if you have less time, skip Portovenere and go straight to Genoa.

Airports

Ideally located between Rome and Florence, the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO) is the best option to start your journey. For a loop itinerary, you can choose to depart from Venice or travel back to Rome to catch your flight home. Marco Polo Airport (VCE) in Venice and Ciampino–G.B. Pastine International Airport (CIA) in Rome are also popular airports in Italy.
