A 4-Day Honeymoon Itinerary in Aurangabad, July 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore Aurangabad City
    20 minutes (7 km) from Aurangabad Airport

    In the morning, visit the Bibi Ka Maqbara, a stunning mausoleum and the principal monument of Aurangabad. In the afternoon, head to the Aurangabad Caves, a group of 12 Buddhist caves, where you can explore ancient Indian art and culture. In the evening, visit the Panchakki, an ancient water mill that also houses a museum.

  2. Day 2: Ajanta Caves Tour
    2 hours (104 km) from Aurangabad City

    Embark on a day trip to Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a striking example of ancient Indian rock-cut architecture. Spend the day exploring the caves, which are home to some of the finest masterpieces of Buddhist art. Return to Aurangabad in the evening to relax and enjoy local cuisine.

  3. Day 3: Ellora Caves Excursion
    30 minutes (30 km) from Aurangabad City

    Visit the Ellora Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and marvel at the architecture and sculptures of the 34 caves, which represent a variety of religions, including Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism. In the afternoon, visit the Shivaji Museum, which exhibits the life and times of the Maratha king, Shivaji. In the evening, head to Prozone Mall for some shopping and entertainment.

  4. Day 4: Aurangabad Rural Experience
    1 hour (40 km) from Aurangabad City

    Experience the rural life of Aurangabad by visiting the Paithani Silk Weaving Centre, which showcases traditional silk weaving, and the Bhoj Waterfall, a beautiful natural spot for picnicking. In the afternoon, visit the Siddharth Garden and Zoo, a popular tourist attraction with a variety of flora and fauna. End your day with a romantic candlelight dinner at a local restaurant.

If you have more time, consider visiting the Daulatabad Fort, a massive hilltop fortress with a rich history, or the Lonar Crater, the world's only saltwater lake in basaltic rock. To maximize your fun, try some local delicacies such as Naan Qalia, a mutton dish, or Pithla Bhakri, a spicy gram flour dish. You can also take a hot air balloon ride to capture a bird's-eye view of the city. Lastly, make sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing, carry sunscreen and stay hydrated as it can get quite hot and sunny in Aurangabad in July.
