Recommendations

If you're interested in history, consider a visit to the Anne Frank House or the Rijksmuseum. For a more laid-back experience, take a canal tour or visit one of the city's many markets, such as the Albert Cuyp Market or the Bloemenmarkt. If you have an extra day, consider taking a day trip to Zaanse Schans, a nearby village famous for its windmills and cheese-making. To maximize your fun, consider renting a bike to get around the city like a local and try some traditional Dutch foods like stroopwafels or bitterballen. Finally, be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes and a raincoat, as the weather in Amsterdam can be unpredictable.
