Family-Friendly 3-Day Itinerary for Aurangabad in November 2023

  1. Day 1: Ajanta Caves
    107km (2.5 hours) from Aurangabad

    In the morning, head to the Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 30 rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments. Spend your morning exploring the caves and admiring the intricate carvings and paintings. In the afternoon, enjoy a picnic lunch at the site before heading to the nearby Fardapur resort for some rest and relaxation. In the evening, visit the nearby Ajanta Handicrafts and pick up some souvenirs to take home.

  2. Day 2: Ellora Caves and Daulatabad Fort
    30km (45 minutes) from Ajanta Caves

    Start your day early and head to the Ellora Caves, another UNESCO World Heritage Site with 34 monasteries and temples. Spend the morning exploring the caves and marveling at the stunning architecture. After lunch, visit the nearby Daulatabad Fort and climb to its ramparts for panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. In the evening, head back to Aurangabad and visit the Himroo Fabrics showroom for some shopping.

  3. Day 3: Bibi Ka Maqbara and Panchakki Watermill
    5km (15 minutes) from Aurangabad

    Start your day by visiting the Bibi Ka Maqbara, a beautiful mausoleum built by Emperor Aurangzeb's son in memory of his mother. Spend some time exploring the gardens and taking photos of the stunning architecture. After lunch, head to the nearby Panchakki Watermill, an ancient watermill that was used to grind grains for the pilgrims visiting the nearby mosque.
